The children chose the name for their centre. It is Gerelt Urguu, which means “grand house of light”, or Light House. This may seem a strange choice of name. After all, the apartments are rather dark and grotty, and are on the ground floor in the middle of a landlocked country – nothing like the sort of lighthouse we know, shining its light out from high above the sea.

However, they didn’t mean that sort of lighthouse. They explained that they had been living in dark places (underground) and now they were living in a house of light, with good food and people who love them. To them it is a house of security and happiness – a true “house of light”.
